DIY Face Mask

A lil' about me, I never applied moisturizer or any sort of skin "treatment" to my skin up until about 1.5 years ago when I was creeping close to 30. However, now I love to moisturize because I've really been able to see its benefits! "Anti-aging" products have always kind of creeped me out because I wonder about the chemicals in them. Which is why I like to use as natural products as often as I can when it comes to something I put on my skin on a regular basis. I figure if you can keep your skin moisturized, it'll naturally help the aging process. Which brings me to one of my favorite DIY face masks! If there's one food I love, it's avocado, so it makes me really happy to know that avocado is very good for you! Not just to eat, but to put on your face, body and hair. The list is really endless when it comes to what you can do with avocados as they are full of potassium, wonderful vitamins, fiber, nourishing oils, etc. Honey is also super great for your skin because it helps provide long-lasting hydration and has antibacterial properties. Oatmeal is also fantastic because it also helps act as an exfoliator.

Here's what you'll need for this mask:

  • 1/2 avocado- I buy mine really ripe because it's difficult to mash otherwise. Also, if it's not ripe enough it doesn't stick on the skin very well.
  • 1 tablespoon of honey- I like to buy organic to keep this as natural as possible.
  • 1/4 cup of uncooked oatmeal.

Mix and mash it up real good then apply it to your face. Please note that if you have really oily skin this may cause breakouts.

I like to apply this face mask whenever I feel like my skin needs it, usually about once every couple of weeks. The avocado really leaves my skin feeling super soft and clean!
